      Free Friday Lunchtime Recital From Bach to Beethoven to Brazil
Our tenth Free Friday Lunchtime Recital of 2025 will take place on Friday 17 October at 1:15pm.
Celebrate the vibrancy of Brazilian piano music in this recital with Connor Heraghty, featuring the lyrical and rhythmically inventive preludes of Villa-Lobos, Lorenzo Fernández, Guarnieri, and Santoro, interspersed with Rachmaninoff’s virtuosic preludes and Beethoven’s revolutionary Waldstein Sonata.

      Free Friday Lunchtime Recital Songs of Earth, Air, and Water - Voice and piano duo: Lucinda Cox, soprano, and Tom Jesty, piano
Our eighth Free Friday Lunchtime Recital of 2025 will take place on Friday 15 August at 1:15pm
Lucinda and Tom will present a programme drawn from the vast repertory of songs inspired by nature and the sky. They will perform texts about nightingales, blackbirds, swallows, and the stars. You will also hear songs addressed to daisies and daffodils, songs describing gardeners and roses, and depictions of the blustery outdoors. The composers represented include Maude Valerie White, Caroline Maude and Amy Beach, as well as Benjamin Britten, Michael Head, and living composers James Ottaway and Piers Connor Kennedy.
 
        
      
      Free Friday Lunchtime Recital: Songs to Remember - Music by Schubert and British folk songs
Our seventh Free Friday Lunchtime Recital of 2025 will take place on Friday 18 July.
In this concert Francis Bushell and Thomas Siemens will explore the theme of remembrance by placing Songs by Franz Schubert next to British folk songs. Francis will play the bassoon and will be accompanied by Thomas on the guitar.

Free Friday Lunchtime Recital: The Power of Art and Nature
Our sixth free concert of 2025 will take place on Friday 20 June: The Power of Art and Nature
We are delighted to welcome Pianist Margalida Moll Salord for a lunchtime recital.
The concert will embark on a romantic musical journey, delving into the works of Schumann, Chopin, and Granados. The programme that we will hear will explore the big influence that Frederick Chopin and Robert Schumann had on the Spanish composer Enrique Granados. The pieces will present a constant alteration of emotions, brought to life through richly coloured harmonies, technical complexity, emotional depth, and poetic phrasing characteristic of the romantic period.

The specially curated tour will give you a glimpse into the history of St Mary’s, how it has influenced Islington today and will culminate with a trip up St Mary’s Church tower, giving you a bird’s eye view of London. Can you manage the 120 steps to the top?!
A tour of St Mary’s Church, including breath-taking views from the tower! Led by a qualified tour guide from Clerkenwell and Islington Guides, this tour of the church and tower will last around 75 minutes.
