St Mary's Festival: Music and Poetry on Fire

  • St Mary's Church Upper Street London, England, N1 2TX United Kingdom (map)

Come and be inspired by fiery music and words, performed and read by talented members of our congregation. The evening will include items from Mendelssohn's oratorio 'Elijah', alongside more contemporary numbers by Johnny Cash and gospel arranger Mark de-Lisser. The poetry ranges from Blake's Tyger Tyger Burning Bright through Eliot's austere visions of fire in Little Gidding to contemporary poet Sharon Moris's update of the old song London's Burning.

Refreshments will be provided.
