Free Friday Lunchtime Recital: Pieces De Clavecin

  • St Mary's Church Upper Street London, England, N1 United Kingdom (map)

Our first Free Friday Lunchtime Recital of 2026 will take place on Friday 16 January. Unfortunately, Antoine Pichon has had to withdraw from this month’s concert due to an injury. We are delighted that Lin Xu-Zhang has agreed to step in. Lin performs a programme that unfolds as a French dream across centuries: from Couperin’s delicately perfumed miniatures, through Satie’s quiet, otherworldly meditations, to Dukas’s blazing, elemental force. Though separated by time, all three composers seek the unseen - sound as colour, gesture as spell. Their music speaks in different dialects, yet belongs to the same language - one that prizes wit and imagination.

Come and be delighted by high quality classical performances in our beautiful church. The concerts will take place on the third Friday of every month at 1.15pm with free hot drinks and cake served from 12.45pm.

The concerts are free and you do not need a ticket.

The free Friday lunchtime recitals at St Mary's have been made possible by the legacy gift of Denise Antenen and generous donations from members of St Mary's congregation.
