Lent is a time of self-examination and investment in our life with God.
At St Mary's we are offering and commending three ways to engage with Lent this season.

Creative Lent Project: "hearts burning within us"
As we enter the discipline of lent, we want to invite the St Mary’s community to respond creatively and prayerfully to a theme: “hearts burning within us”
Our theme words are taken from the passage in Luke about the disciples who are walking the Emmaus Road when they meet the risen Jesus (Luke 24:13-35)
Your response can be in any medium — poetry, music, sculpture, painting, photography, drawing, textiles, collage, beading — anything you can imagine!
This is open to all and abilities, (pieces must be suitable for all ages), to help us as we journey through Lent. We will enjoy one another’s work at a special exhibition on Palm Sunday, 29 March, from 3-5pm at St Mary’s Church.

London Bishops' Course: Discipleship in Times of Mystery and Unknowing
This Lent, join us to explore the journey of discipleship amid uncertainty, mystery, and unknowing. Drawing on lived experience and the wisdom of disability and suffering theologies, we will reflect on what it means to follow Christ – not in spite of life’s struggles, but as we encounter God’s grace and guidance within them.
On Tuesday evenings in Lent, our bishops are inviting us to see how God’s presence often shines brightest in the shadows and how discipleship calls us to faithful trust when answers are elusive.
