St Mary's Weekly Eco Tip: Air drying clothes
Make the most of the warm August weather by air-drying your clothes instead of using a tumble dryer. Dryers use a lot of electricity, so hanging your washing outside on a line is an easy way to save energy and reduce your carbon footprint. If you don’t have access to a garden or outdoor space, clothes will still dry quickly indoors on an airer thanks to the summer heat—just place it near an open window for good airflow. Not only is this better for the planet, but it also helps your clothes last longer by being gentler on the fabric.
