St Mary’s Triennial Visitation

We are delighted to share the news with you that St Mary’s received high praise in our Archdeacon’s Triennial Visitation Report in September 2025. Each parish is reviewed every three years to celebrate progress and ensure healthy governance, mission, and ministry.

The report visitation was carried out by Rev Steven Gayle in July 2025 and in his report he reflects on developments since 2022 and highlights the church’s growth, stewardship, and community impact.

Highlights from the report include:

Resourcing Others – St Mary’s has embraced its role as a resource church, developing a new partnership with Hope Church, Islington.

Mission Action Plan – The detailed plan, Connected to Islington, God and one another, is driven by a whole team rather than a few individuals, showing shared ownership of the church’s mission.

One in Heart, Soul, and Mind – Steve noted that every team member could clearly articulate St Mary’s mission and vision, describing the church as “one in heart, soul, and mind.”

Good Stewardship – Room hire income increased last year and the parish continues to exceed its London Ministry Cost commitments.

Revd James Hughesdon said: “We’re deeply encouraged by this report—it’s a testament to God’s faithfulness and the dedication of so many across our church family. Thank you to Steve for his kind words and to our Churchwardens, PCC and staff teams who facilitated the visitation.”
