St Mary Islington’s Care for Creation group are hosting two evening information and discussion sessions on trees and how they are part of the nature based response to climate change.
The second, on Tuesday 13 May at 7.30pm, will link to St Mary’s support for TreeAid, growing trees and restoring land in the drylands of Africa. St Mary Islington also supports the Anglican Communion Forest and Partners in Carbon Sequestration. Our engagement with this Kenyan pilot project will be discussed.
We are delighted to announce we have an external speaker attending Dr Elizabeth Perry, Programmes Director at the Anglican Alliance. She has kindly agreed to give a presentation about the Anglican Alliance, the Communion Forest and specifically the Kenyan tree-planting project that St Mary's is supporting.
This will be followed by three short videos on the initiative to plant a Great Green Wall across Africa in which TreeAid is involved, another charity the church is supporting.
Refreshments served at 7.30pm. Care for Creation is an integral part of our discipleship, and our calling as a church.
