Children and Youth
Children, young people and families are very welcome at St Mary’s. Our space is a relaxed and welcoming environment where we want children to be free to be themselves.
On the first, second and third Sundays of each month we host our children’s groups. On other Sundays there are activities for children including colouring and word searches.
For more information about what events we have for children, youth and families please scroll to the bottom of the page.

Chessington World of Adventures
St Mary’s Church were able to organize a family trip to Chessington theme park for the Easter holidays. We had 22 children and adults in attendance. We were able to visit the zoo, go on rides and even take part in an Easter Egg Hunt.
Animal Aid
In the Spring Term of 2025, St Mary’s Church Youth Group got a visit from Animal Aid. Our guest speaker (Andrew) spoke to our young people about the importance of animal rights, the abuse they face and how we can create a cruelty free lifestyle. We are grateful to Andrew and Animal Aid for taking the time to challenge and educate our young people.
Messy Church
This summer we had our first ever Messy Church event. The theme was Pentecost and we had over 100 children and adults in attendance. All crafts were based on the theme above and allowed us to talk about faith in a fun and engaging way. We would like to thank all those who took the time to attend and volunteer at this event. We hope to do one next year!
Alton Towers
For our annual youth trip, we took some of young people to Alton Towers Theme Park. For most of them it was their first time and they had so much fun. For more information about Alton Towers, do visit their website: https://www.altontowers.com/.
Stubbers 2025
This summer our youth minister was invited to join St Mary’s Primary School on their Year 6 residential to Stubbers. During the residential, pupils from Year 6 could participate in various activities such as caving, archery, paddle boarding and more. A fun time was had by all, and as a church we are grateful for such a strong connection to our local school. For more information about Stubbers, do check out their website: https://www.stubbers.co.uk/

Diocese of London's Children's Charter
We are thrilled to have been awarded the Diocese of London's Children's Charter, making children fully part of St Mary's through welcome, worship, mission and nurture. We take safeguarding seriously. All our leaders and helpers are DBS checked and take great care to ensure the children have fun in a safe environment.
