St Mary's Weekly Eco Tip: Reduce single-use plastics

Plastic straws, bottles and bags are a significant source of pollution that can take centuries to decompose and pose a serious threat to wildlife. Choosing reusable alternatives not only reduces waste but also conserves energy and resources. Consider using paper bags or going bagless altogether — simply rinse out your rubbish and recycling bins instead. Plastic bin bags can take up to 100 years to break down, causing damage to ecosystems and endangering wildlife.

Where possible, opt for paper or reusable bags, reusable straws, and refillable water bottles.
