Why is nature cruel?

A service of Holy Communion.

Bible readings: Genesis 1:20-25; Luke 12.24-28.

The natural world is a beautiful and dangerous place. Cats eat birds. Birds eat insects. Insects spread disease. From the apex predators at the top of the food chain to the viruses that exploit their hosts, survival is a life and death struggle.

Does this pose a problem for the Christian understanding of God as a loving Creator?

Preaching: Caroline Shuttleworth

Children's groups are available today.
A creche is available.
Refreshments are served after the service.
Worship is led by our classical choir. We blend traditional hymns with contemporary songs.
