Annual Church Meeting

Bible Reading: Acts 9.36-43.

Simon Harvey preaching.

The most striking thing about this story is that a person is miraculously raised from the dead. But there are other aspects, not controversial to our eyes, that would have shocked its first readers. The celebrated disciple at the heart of the story is a woman. She has a dual ethnic identity. And the conclusion of the story puts Peter among very odd company indeed.

During our Annual Parochial Church Meeting, we'll be reaffirming the calling that comes to St Mary's to be the parish church at the heart of Islington. Simon Harvey will speak briefly about the way that God has recently clarified this crucial role for him and what it could mean for us all.

We'll be electing churchwardens and representatives to our Parochial Church Council.

  • Children's groups are available today.
  • A creche is available.
  • Refreshments are served after the service.
  • Worship is led by our Classical Choir. We blend traditional hymns with contemporary songs.
