As part of our Heart of Islington project, we're protecting the heritage of Islington's original church. The current building is the fourth or fifth on this site, which is where our borough's story began.
We're putting together a very large project, which will see improvements to the north church garden, to the church itself and to our neighbourhood centre. In these early phases of the work, steeplejacks have been working up to 168 feet (51 metres) above Upper Street to ensure that our spire keeps pointing the right way up.
At the moment, we're in the middle of fundraising among our own congregation and church members. And after Christmas, there'll be a wider public appeal and much more news to share.
