We’re looking for a Music Worship Leader to join our team for an exciting 12 hours-per-week role, at a salary of around £13-14 per hour, depending on experience.
St Mary Islington is a thriving and diverse community of Christians, worshipping God at the heart of Islington.
We’re a large congregation (typically 170 adults and children in total each Sunday, out of a total membership approaching 500) and we love difference.
Our church style is open-evangelical and we are a parish in the Church of England. In worship we blend joy and reverence, using a variety of mostly-written liturgies.
A new opportunity has arisen for the appointment of a paid Music Worship Leader to lead the flourishing of our music in ministry. The post-holder would have responsibilities for all our music and make the most of opportunities in all our partnerships, including our church primary school. We're looking for someone to give an inspiring vocal lead in our contemporary band and to oversee and co-ordinate all aspects of music at St Mary's. But much of the role will depend on the particular skills of the successful applicant. We’ve never had someone in this role before and we’re excited at how this development in our church’s life could take us to new places in our worship.
If you’re interested in this vision for worship, write to our vicar, The Revd Simon Harvey firstname.lastname@example.org for more details, including your phone number and a short statement introducing yourself and why this role appeals. We’ll get back to you and share the full role description and invite you to make a formal application by 17 September 2016, for interview soon after.
This appointment is subjected to an enhanced DBS disclosure. There is an occupational requirement for the post holder to be a Christian.
