Ordinations at St Mary's - Saturday 14 June at 3pm

Our own curate, The Revd Gloria Naylor, is to be ordained at St Mary's on 14 June.

The Bishop of Stepney, The Rt Revd Adrian Newman, will be presiding and ordaining three ministers into the ministerial priesthood of the Church of England. The Revd Richard Springer and The Revd Sue Makin are serving as curates in the Stepney Episcopal Area and they too will be ordained at the service.

The preacher will be The Revd Graeme Watson, author and spiritual director.

Gloria writes, "It is hard to believe that almost a year ago I was ordained as a deacon and called to serve a three year curacy at St Mary's church.  Since being here I have learned and developed in different ways and through different aspects of ministry.  I have enjoyed serving as part of the body of Christ at St Mary's Church alongside people who also have a distinct Christian calling.

"I pray that my priestly ministry will reflect the love and mercy of Jesus Christ, the Good Shepherd who seeks the lost sheep and brings healing to those who are injured.  I pray that God strengthens the passion of my inner life and gives me the courage and wisdom to love and serve God's people faithfully."

It's been our joy to welcome Gloria, whose background is in a different church tradition from that of St Mary's, to bring her gifts to our gifted team of lay and ordained ministers. We have much to learn from and share with one another.

All members of St Mary's Church are welcome to join with members of other churches and the friends and supporters of those being ordained. No tickets are necessary.
