Kristin Bruess to be ordained at St Paul's Cathedral on 28 June

Kristin Bruess will be ordained alongside our former Assistant Minister, Alexandra Lilley at St Paul's Cathedral later this month.

They join a long list of people from St Mary's who have gone on to ordained ministry in the Church of England, including Samuel Ajayi Crowther, who was this week nominated for an Islington People's Plaque.

Kristin writes,

"I am filled with joyful expectation, — along with some anxiety :) — at the prospect of being ordained deacon in the Church of England next Saturday.  I am deeply grateful and indebted to St Mary’s, the church family where we grew in God’s goodness and grace as a family for ten years and where I discerned His call to a ministerial vocation.  I have benefited from the wisdom, encouragement and love from so many of you - thank you!  I would welcome your prayers as I formally commit to ordained ministry on the 28th June and embark upon my role as Curate / Senior Associate Pastor at Holy Trinity Swiss Cottage (HTSC).  Hope to see you at St. Paul’s next Saturday!

"HTSC is an HTB church plant since 2006 from a charismatic tradition with a total worshipping community of around 300 with 120-150 or so every Sunday over two morning services.  I was placed there as an ordinand and my role has expanded to include a broader leadership role in Pastoral and Teaching, overseeing our regular Wednesday night programme, Sunday welcome ministry and getting involved in our school ministry at Holy Trinity School.  I also am responsible for managing our newly hired ‘Operations Manager’ and our part-time Publicity Manager.  I shall be leading and preaching regularly (29 June and 6 July in fact!) and it would be lovely to see you up the road sometime.  Please do keep in touch and let me know how I can hold you in prayer as well."
