Rosy Fairhurst appointed to Leicester Cathedral

The Bishop of Leicester, the Rt Revd Tim Stevens, has announced that the Revd Rosy Fairhurst is to be the new Canon Chancellor of Leicester Cathedral.  She will have responsibility for education and pastoral care at the Cathedral.

It's an exciting time for Leicester, as the cathedral is set to receive the recently discovered remains of Richard III, which will be reinterred and the focus of international interest. Rosy will take up the appointment in the summer, after spending eight weeks in the United States on a Winston Churchill travel fellowship, exploring new monastic communities and faith-based social enterprise.

We're delighted at this news and pray that Rosy, who served at St Mary's as Associate Minister from 1997 to 2002 will be blessed in this new and important role. We'll be hearing from Rosy at the 11am service this Sunday, 25 May, and wishing her a fond farewell.
