Possible closure of Upper Street - Sunday 18 May

We're excited that Arsenal may return to Islington as FA Cup winners on Saturday. After all, we have a long association which the club was pleased to celebrate last year.

But if the team is victorious on Saturday afternoon, there'll be a celebration parade which will close Upper Street outside the church on Sunday.

Our worship will go ahead as usual but you should allow plenty of extra time to make your way to church.

At the time of writing, this is the latest information we have from TFL:

There will be a parade from the Emirates to Islington Town Hall on Upper Street via Drayton Park, Aubert Park, Highbury Park Grove, St Pauls Road, Highbury corner, Upper Street.

Upper Street between Essex Road and Highbury corner will be closed from 09:00 and Holloway Road from Liverpool Road to Highbury Corner will be closed from 10:00 to facilitate the event. The entire parade route will have pedestrian barriers.

London buses will be diversion around the round closures. Parking will be suspended along the route from 00:01 to 17:00 with restrictions lifted once all attendees have left the are and roads are reopened. Expect traffic delays and higher than normal numbers of pedestrians in the area.

Check the TFL website for updates.
