Leadership in the local church

Churchwardens and members of the Parochial Church Council (PCC) have a crucial leadership role in the church. They oversee the mission of the church, take responsibility for its budget, property, employment and governance.

In the Church of England, the vicar shares leadership with the churchwardens and the PCC in partnerships of mutual accountability and trust.

So as our Annual Parochial Church Meeting on 6 April 2014 approaches, we're thinking prayerfully and seriously about who may be called by God and chosen by the church community to be churchwardens and PCC members. We've produced a Leadership Elections leaflet to describe the roles and we encourage every active member of St Mary's to give this careful thought.
