Halloweave - 29 October 2012

Friends at Union Chapel, just along the road, are inviting us to a new perspective on Hallowe'en, "spinning the themes of All Hallows Eve in words and music".

Here's the billing:

Featuring  Dr Ann Jeffers as guest speaker, poetry compiled by Nancy Mattson and Mike Bartholomew-Biggs and music directed by James Cave.

And so we gather to unweave
the witch from the web of fear
rethread her back to womanhood

To unpick both humour and horror
from the dusk of Hallowe’en
and weave ourselves back into
a night awaiting holiness
-- Nancy Mattson

The audience will travel throught the Chapel and into the Upper Hall and Experience story telling, poetry, song, music and tales from ancient texts, all of which will try and spin the themes of All Hallows Eve and untangle the web of Hallowe'en.

Featuring Dr Ann Jeffers as guest speaker, poetry compiled by Nancy Matterson and Mike Bartholomew-Biggs and Music Directed by James Cave. Visual art by Kate Keara Pelen.
