Open House success

Last weekend we were thrilled to welcome over 250 visitors through the doors of St Mary's, as part of Open House weekend. Around 60 visitors bravely ascended the tower to see the incredible views over Islington. The café hummed with life as homemade cupcakes were consumed and people reminisced about their experiences of Islington. On Saturday afternoon, the bell ringers gave a wonderful demonstration and on the Sunday, three talented musicians from St Mary's, Andrew Adigun, Gisela Meyer and Anne-Marie Cunnold, delighted us with pieces by Debussy, Chopin and Mozart.
Here are just some of the comments we received in the visitors' book:
"What a lovely vibrant church!"
"An amazing and beautiful space"
"Had a great day - music was beautiful"
"Very peaceful"
"Thanks for the tour - an amazing adventure!"
"Thank you for a very enjoyable afternoon... appreciated the warm welcome of all involved."

Many thanks too all who volunteered over the weekend, from flower-arrangers to tour guides. We look forward to Open House 2013 - and in the meantime every effort will be made to keep St Mary's open to the public as often as possible during the week.
