Prayers for wholeness and healing

In the first documents of the church, we find that prayers for healing and wholeness were offered as a natural part of the community's worshipping life. In the four Gospels, Jesus appears to have spent as much time bringing healing as teaching.

We're always ready to pray for people but every few months we make prayers for healing the focus of our worship in the eleven o'clock service.

We make no grandiose claims or promises. God sometimes brings the healing that we seek and sometimes he doesn't. Sometimes he draws close, offers assurance and strength. Sometimes we're left wondering.

Our service including prayers for healing begins at 11am, and finishes at 12.15, on Sunday 29 January 2012.
